Today, Monday, May 4th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the most glamorous and eagerly awaited charity event in the fashion world, the Met Gala, was supposed to take place but like other events around the world, it was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year the Met is celebrating its 150th anniversary and the theme chosen for the annual fundraising event for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York would be: “About Time: Fashion and Duration” and would cover over a century and a half of fashion history, from 1870 to the present day.
But all is not lost.

Today at 18:00 EDT the Vogue YouTube channel will host the alternative and virtual version of the event, A Moment With the Met.

The event will include a performance by Florence + The Machine and a dj set by Virgil Abloh, as well as a look at the Met Gala of previous years and the sharing of new videos featuring Naomi Campbell, Cardi B, Liv Tyler and Stella McCartney

“It would be impossible to recreate the gala on Monday evening, though I have loved hearing how so many are marking the occasion in their own ways. So instead, I asked a few friends to join me for a simple moment — one that I hope will bring us all a bit of joy.”

These are the words of Anna Wintour, director of Vogue US and co-chair of the Met Gala.

The appointment with A Moment with the Met, it’s here at midnight. Don’t miss it.
