Warm and delicate, the illustrations by Iuliastration
Iulia, known on Instagram, where she is followed by over 40 thousand people, as Iuliastration, is a young artist of Romanian origins who simply welcomes us into a warm and enveloping world, where we can relax and recharge our batteries.
Her illustrations are just like a coffee, a concentrate of energy that manages to regenerate us and give us the right charge. In fact, coffee is one of the main subjects of Iuliastration’s work. Young girls, free and sensual, dive into huge cups, ready to conquer the world.
We also find relaxing and exotic landscapes, where beautiful women swing from a rope attached to a palm tree, or the moon. Iuliastration gives us pills of carefreeness, willpower, freedom.
We have selected only some of her illustrations, to discover them all followed Iulia on Instagram and to buy one of her creations on her online shop.
JR and Alice Rohrwacher in Venice with “Omelia Contadina”
It was November 2, 2019 when Italian director Alice Rohrwacher and JR decided to find a way to pay homage to the farmers of the Alfina Plateau.
For a long time, the director has been carrying on a battle to raise awareness of the change that is taking place on the Alfina Plateau, where the landscape has been almost completely destroyed to make way for hazelnut monoculture. Alice has tried in every way to draw the attention of newspapers and presidents of the regions of Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany to the problem, but it seems that, after so long, cinema, the art to which she has dedicated her life, has proved to be the right way to deal with the problem.
Thus was born, almost by chance, the short film “Omelia Contadina“, the result of collaboration, or rather friendship, with the artist JR.
The aim was to pay homage to the farmers of the Alfina Plateau, in a constant struggle against intensive monocultures and speculation, and to help them with the only means at their disposal, art.
The idea was to stage the funeral of the farmers, and therefore of traditional agriculture, celebrated by those same farmers intent on resisting change.
The workers of the land were filmed by Alice while they were carrying on their shoulders, among the farmers of the Alfina Plateau, some enormous silhouettes of peasants made by JR.
But this funeral procession did not end on November 2nd, in fact a few days ago it resumed its journey to the Venice Film Festival, among canals and gondolas, where “Omelia Contadina” was officially presented to the critics and the public.
Defined by the director as “a cinematic action“, the work of Alice Rohrwacher and JR goes far beyond the screen, demonstrating once again the strength and power of art.

Vinilica vol. 65 – Diamine
Today we talk about the Roman electro-pop duo “Diamine”. Formed by Andrea Purpura and Niccolò Cesanelli, they created this ambitious project in 2017.
On September 4 for Maciste dischi / Sony Music Italy has arrived their first debut album “MA CHE DIAMINE“. 14 songs that play new, they go straight to the point without too many problems.
About “MA CHE DIAMINE” the Roman electro-pop duo says: “This is an album that tells no stories, an album of inner photographs on electronic music. Each track has its own experience, its own demon. An album of feelings but not sentimental with a look closer to the source and away from the chatter and love phrases to effect. This is not music for everyone, but it is music for everyone”.
As always exclusively for Collater.al Mag they have created a playlist with all their influences and something more!
It is a playlist for space-time jumps. There is the song for walking, the song for hanging out the clothes, the song for crying and making love. We leave the cute songs at home, this is the stuff for going and coming back. Personal protection.
Morgen ist die Frage. (Tomorrow is the question). These are the words of the banner waving on the facade of the Berghain, a historic building of the Berlin techno scene and one of the most important underground clubs in the world. Due to regulations regarding the pandemic, the club was closed for a few months but it is now news that the Berghain temporarily reopens its doors to host the contemporary art exhibition entitled “Studio Berlin”. An idea aimed at reviving the city after months of silence by the curator of the Boros Foundation together with the collector Christian Boros.
Between photography, sculpture, performance and multimedia installations, the exhibition will consist of works created during the months of lockdown by eighty-five artists active in the capital, including Olafur Eliasson, Tacita Dean, Wolfgang Tillmans, Shirin Sabahi, Christine SunKim and Sandra Mujinga.

The exhibition officially opened its doors to the public on September 9 until a date to be set. Visitors can book a guided tour and have the opportunity to cross the 3,500 square meters of the venue, including the dance floor and the Panorama Bar. The proceeds will be donated to the same nightclub that, like many others, had to face many difficulties after the outbreak of the pandemic.
And if you were wondering the answer is no: you can’t take pictures inside it anyway. The legendary policy of the club is hard to die.
