Seven years after issue 15, Acne Parer, the Acne Studios magazine launched in 2004, is back.
The 16th issue of Acne Paper is a hybrid between a magazine and a book: a new format – compared to previous publications – consisting of over 500 pages and a new editorial approach that includes a variety of stories and protagonists ranging from fashion to art and also touching on issues in line with our contemporary world that need to be explored and discussed. This new issue has as its title – and editorial focus – Age of Acquarius, which for astrologers has a very important meaning.

The Age of Aquarius represents a radical change, an upheaval of the status quo and the birth of a new world. The global society is changing in front of our eyes: social activism grows hand in hand with the awareness of the new generations; a desire for equality at all levels pervades the consciences of many against the bigotry and backwardness of many, but the latter tend to raise their voices too much as those who must defend anachronistic ideas.
The aquarium is a symbol of community, humanity and renewal, and in keeping with this symbolism, Age of Acquarius features the likes of activist and author Djamila Ribeiro, environmentalist Sam Gandy and writer and theater critic Hilton Als of The New Yorker.
IThe volume also includes fashion editorials by Lotta Volkova and Ib Kamara, as well as profiles of artists such as Nam June Paik and Melanie Bonajo.
The cover of this new issue was designed by 23-year-old Cairo-born artist Yousef Sabry.
