A return to the origins, to the primordial affections and places of childhood, that represented in the new FW21 campaign of Aimé Leon Dore.
Teddy Santis and his team went to Greece, the land where Santis’ mother comes from and where the founder of the brand and creative director of New Balance’s MADE in USA line, himself spent many years commuting between the beautiful Hellenic peninsula and his adopted home, Queens, New York.
For the FW21 campaign, Santis wanted to communicate his connection and love for Greece by immortalizing it in its simplest, rural aspect, putting the faces, places and sounds that best represent the Hellenic spirit and culture at the center of the narrative.
The protagonists of the campaign video are local citizens, kids, old people, fishermen and shepherds immersed in their usual context but wearing the FW21 collection of Aimé Leon Dore and, as a soundtrack, we find the Greek musician Kostantis Pistiolis.
Originally from Konitsa, a village of 7000 souls in the outskirts of Epirus, Pistiolis is the protagonist of a video posted on the Instagram profile of the New York-based brand in which he plays a variety of instruments – such as the traditional bouzouki, clarinet, accordion – and sings what is the soundtrack that accompanies us all on this journey to the land of the gods, introducing us to the sounds of Greek tradition.
We don’t have a FW21 release date yet but we won’t have to wait too long and the whole collection will soon be available through the brand’s online shop.
