London-based creative agency Rosie Lee has transformed Nike‘s iconic Air Max into conceptual sculptures that architects and addicted sneakers will particularly appreciate. The project is a tribute to the Center Pompidou, the museum in Paris that inspired the legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, who at the end of the 80s created the iconic shoe.
The 3D project recalls in part the internal architectural elements that Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini used to design and build the complex in the 70s. The graphics include two other models of Air Max, namely the Nike Air Max 90 and Air Max 95. The first is entirely represented by speakers and cassettes, in reference to the culture of “Early adopters”, while the second takes the anatomy of the human foot, which was the inspiration source of the designer Sergio Lozano for the realization of this model.
