Art is Resistance – Bernulia

These days on our magazine and on our Instagram profile, we told you about Art is Resistance, our charity project born to help doctors and nurses of the Lombardy region.
There have been many, and there will still be many more, artists who entertained us with live performance and video making-of, but there are also many who want to give their contribution even if they are not able today, for obvious reasons, to realize an ad hoc work for this occasion.

Among them there is also Giulia Bernardelli aka Bernulia, who wanted to give her contribution by donating one of her artworks, “Gli innamorati”, to Art is Resistance.

From tomorrow you will also find her work on 32auctions, while you can wait and see who will keep you company!

Giulia Bernardelli aka Bernulia

My name is Giulia Bernardelli and I was born in Mantua 31 years ago, a city where I still maintain a home and work studio.
After graduating in “communication and didactics of art” I started working with the main museum of my city, Palazzo Ducale.

In 2015 I decided to share on instagram a composition with coffee powder and a portrait with liquid coffee. In a couple of months those images became viral and the first interviews and articles in international newspapers began.
The first work I was commissioned is for Pirelli, main sponsor of Expo 2015.
Then I made the cover of the Washington Post insert, which will win the jury prize as best cover of the WP insert of the year 2015.
This is followed by work for New York film festival, Fox, Disney, Armani, Segafredo, Pixar, Autogrill, Camera della moda…and many others.
All my images are born from natural or food elements, simple things that surround anyone’s life and that you discover magic when you look closely.
All my work is ephemeral, it disappears after its realization. What remains is a photograph.

Gli innamorati”, 2015

La tecnica con cui Giulia ha realizzato l’artwork è “caffè rovesciato su
The technique with which Giulia created the artwork is “coffee spilled on a table“.
The size of the print is 30cmx30cm, the paper is photographic matt satin 195g and coffee-colored cardboard.

Bernulia’s artwork will be auctioned on 32auctions from tomorrow April 16th until the end of the month!
