Art is Resistance – Fernando Cobelo

Also this week, one day after the other, 5 artists have put their time and their art at our disposal to help us reach the goal we set ourselves two weeks ago: to help Lombardy region, the one that hosts us and that has recorded the highest number of cases, in the fight against Covid-19.

All the money collected through the auctions, that you can find on 32auctions, will be donated for the extraordinary purchase of consumables, such as masks, protective suits, disinfectants and equipment necessary for health facilities.

So far there are 10 artworks at auction and you can find them all at this link, but from tomorrow you will also find Fernando Cobelo‘s one.

Fernando Cobelo – The making-of of the artwork on Collater.al‘s Instagram profile and on his profile from 3:00 pm on 03.04.2020

Fernando Cobelo (1988) is a Venezuelan illustrator based in Turin (Italy), known for his clean, defined, essential and sometimes even childish illustrations. Fernando depicts universes full of surreal dreams and vivid nightmares that trigger our thoughts and move our feelings, with naive lines in which it might be easy finding fragments of ourselves.
This emotional approach has given Fernando the opportunity to work with clients such as The New York Times, Google, Penguin Random House, Walt Disney Studios, Corriere della Sera, UNICEF, Vanity Fair, Lavazza, Huawei, Lonely Planet, Zanichelli, Swatch, Barilla, National Chamber of Italian Fashion, WeTransfer, Moleskine (among others), having also the honour of winning different awards and recognitions across Italy, UK and the US.

In the educational field, Fernando has taught in some Italian institutes like IED, LUISS and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and has held different didactic activities in some other international universities in Mexico, India, Russia, China, Venezuela, Bulgaria and Turkey.

On Friday 3rd April you will find on Collater.al and Fernando Cobelo’s channel the video of the making-of of the unpublished opera that will be auctioned on 32actions where it will remain for one month.
