ASICS Sportstyle and Little Tokyo Table Tennis strengthen their partnership with a new version of the GEL-RESOLUTION™ 5: a sneaker that brings together the technical expertise of the Japanese brand and the design language of LTTT, the California-based collective that has turned table tennis into a creative universe of its own.

The starting point is a model originally designed for on-court stability, which LTTT has reinterpreted in a sportier, visually denser key. The transparent, gradient ASICS Stripe extends along the upper, evoking speed. Table tennis-inspired motifs — referencing the 2014 season — appear on both the inner and outer panels, while the classic Tiger Stripe has been removed from the medial side: a gesture of subtraction that nods to the simplicity of the game. The toe caps have been redesigned with playful embossed patterns and decorated with the LTTT and 40++++ logos, complemented by LTTT’s iconic gradient air bubbles.

Polyurethane runs through the entire design as the guiding material, chosen to express LTTT’s fascination with duality: body and mind, paddle and ball. The insoles feature images and drawings handcrafted from the collective’s creative universe, while the tongue carries both brand logos alongside the embroidered Little Tokyo Table Tennis Kanji and a “40++++” relief detail.

The sneaker is available in two colorways. The bright green version works with a yellow-green two-tone knit mesh, transparent TPU panels that let the underlying texture come through, metallic silver painted details, and a heel cage that fades into ice blue toward the midfoot. The white version is built on a wide, breathable mesh, with a red lacing system that draws attention to the various materials and typographic characters on the tongue, and a black midsole with FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning that contrasts sharply with the natural rubber-colored outsole.

Each pair includes two types of laces — an elastic version with an ASICS lace lock and a no-tie alternative — for maximum flexibility before stepping on the court. The launch campaign, shot in Los Angeles, follows a group of friends boarding a sports charter bus from the LTTT flagship store toward two of Southern California’s leading table tennis community venues, OCTTA and LATTA: a journey celebrating enthusiasm, competition, and the sense of calm that comes from a full day dedicated to ping pong.
