In the second chapter of the collaboration between Barbour and Baracuta, the two brands continue to blend their British roots and 200 years of tradition in creating distinctive and practical outerwear, capable of withstanding the harshest weather conditions.

The Fall/Winter 2024 collection pays tribute to the Northern subcultural movements that, from the 1950s to today, have adopted Baracuta’s iconic G9 Harrington jacket. From Teddy Boys to Mods, Rude Boys, and Brit-pop fans like Oasis, the G9 has crossed styles, music, and culture. This collection expands the offering with outerwear, clothing, and accessories, blending the archival DNA of both brands and their famous tartan, creating pieces destined to become future heirlooms.

Among the standout pieces are modern reinterpretations of archival icons. Barbour’s iconic Bedale jacket, born in 1980 for equestrian enthusiasts, is updated with Baracuta’s distinctive dog-ear collar. Baracuta’s G9 is also reimagined with Barbour’s waxed cotton, featuring brass details and a double slider zipper, elevating this workwear classic. The Mod Casual Parka, meanwhile, pays homage to the Mods of the 1960s, combining military influences with contemporary details like an oversized hood and adjustable waist.

The campaign, shot in the red-brick streets of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, also pays homage to Baracuta’s northern roots, having been founded there in 1938. Inspired by the artistic style of English painter L.S. Lowry, it captures Manchester’s industrial essence and its impact on British culture. The face of the campaign is Danny Lomas, who perfectly embodies the balance between past and present.

The collection will be available from October 18, 2024, in stores and online at Barbour.com and Baracuta.com.
