The Book House, the wooden library built like a pile dwelling

In the ancient Chinese county of Wuyi, a modern wooden structure stands out in the dark of the night. This is the new Book House, a place built with the aim of creating a serene reading space, but also a quiet meeting place dedicated to everyone, from children to the elderly.

The structure is the same as that of the piles, entirely made of wood and glass, supported by ten columns, and is divided into two levels. On the first floor, there is a semi-open space with a small bar, while on the second floor there are all the enclosed spaces and the play area dedicated to children. The Book House was built with a patio that surrounds it, where there is also a small fountain that fills with rainwater.

But the most beautiful aspect of the Book House is perhaps the view visible from the large windows, thus creating a real interaction between people, space and the surrounding environment.
