Architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk in collaboration with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) designed a suspended bridge over the Vøringsfossen waterfall in Norway.
“The bridge creates a new way of seeing and perceiving the space of the landscape“, a journey through architecture, technology, infrastructure and nature.
The bridge after years of work is finally ready for brave visitors who want to cross the 99 steps connecting the two sides of the beautiful Måbødalen valley, in exchange for an incomparable view of the tumultuous waters of Vøringsfossen.
The Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk project is just one part of a series of new developments around the waterfall that aim to make the popular place even more attractive to visitors.
A beautiful place that is definitely worth a visit, where the water cascades down under a raised walkway that seems to float in the air. All surrounded by panoramic views of nebulous mountains and a deep valley below.
