The artistic duo Quintessenz brings a breath of colour to a deconsecrated church in Brescia with the installation Carme Genesis.

This summer we left the Quintessenz duo, formed by German artists Thomas Granseuer and Tomislav Topic, on the island of Paxos with their installation for the Paxos Contemporary Art Project. Now we find it in Italy, with Carme Genesis, a new work always created with suspended fabrics, exhibited at CARME in Brescia, a cultural center that has found its headquarters in the deconsecrated church of Saints Philip and James, now used as a hall for exhibitions and expositions.

This is the first time that the German duo has worked in this kind of building, which is why the installation was designed in relation to this space: the long strips of colored fabric fill almost the entire nave, both in height and width. This makes the work interactive, allowing the viewer to cross it, to look at it from different points of view, from below, from the sides, but also from above, going up to the first floor of the church.
