It is not too much to say that Sex and the City have influenced the culture of the 90s and early 2000. So this year, in honor of the twentieth anniversary of the show, the US interior design startup Modsy reinvented the style of Carrie’s iconic apartment, imagining it in 2018. Modsy’s creatives pretended that the marriage between Carrie and Big had not been there, like their transfer, but they did not forget the other three main characters of the show. So we see the most famous New York apartment revisited in the style of Carrie, but also in that of Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte.

For Carrie’s apartment the Modsy team thought of an eclectic and modern style, renamed “Mod Collector”. The palette of nuances is inspired quite faithfully by the original one, with the incursion of some brighter color. The most expensive piece is obviously the desk because “everything is in the desk. If I find the desk, the inspiration will come“. And then what Carrie’s apartment would be without the unforgettable tutu, the necklace with her name, the Vogue magazines, the cigarettes and the coffee mug?

If Samantha lived in the apartment the style would be minimal glam, a style that Modsy called “Less is More Chich”, so we enter a clean, minimal but also bold and dramatic place. The materials used are different, from leather to velvet, from fur to gold.

For Miranda, however, they have thought of a contemporary minimalist style. The furniture is of quality and lasting. But Miranda, unlike her friend Carrie, does not love colors so the greens and blues give way to neutral and grey tones.

Charlotte, as a good connoisseur, would give to the apartment a classic but always very refined touch. Her living room is the perfect place to entertain guests and, above all, she does not have a TV, absolutely not in Charlotte style. As a curator of art galleries in her home cannot miss exhibited works.
