It was 2014 when, on the occasion of the public and contemporary art festival Altrove, street artist Massimo Sirelli created a multicolored work that gave a new face to an anonymous and grey breakwater of Catanzaro, his hometown. In these years of wind, waves and salt, the work began to lose its charm and splendid colors.
For this reason, Massimo Sirelli and his crew returned to that same breakwater to restore a work that had managed to give a new face to that part of the city, giving life to the second chapter of the Catanzaro ColorFul project.

The large concrete blocks of the breakwater were each painted in a different color, creating a special effect: now it seems that giant LEGO bricks are piled up a few steps from the beach, ready to dive into the water.

In addition, the restoration of the work has turned into a real artistic performance. Massimo Sirelli has in fact given an appointment to the citizens near the breakwater, allowing everyone to see how much work and how many technical difficulties are hidden behind the realization of such a work.

So, under the eyes of the citizens and with the water of the sea to the waist, Massimo Sirelli showed once again how art can change the places we live, changing the perception.
