If Hyper-Femininity Blends with the Outdoors

Just yesterday, during Paris Fashion Week, a collaboration that brings together hyper-feminine elements with outdoor technical expertise was announced. And that is the capsule collection between Cecilie Bahnsen and The North Face. Accompanying the Danish designer’s show, where the partnership was unveiled, a live performance by Takashi Homma immediately transported us to the mountain peaks near Tokyo. The perfect setting to introduce a collaboration that intrigued us right from the start.

The fabrics used in this partnership are high-performance, and the technical finishes are top-notch, while ample space has also been given to the intricate embroidery and details created by Cecile Bahnsen. Sculptural elements and lightness are in perfect balance, all set against a black monochromatic palette. The sensation is one of a unique timelessness, which becomes a key element of the language desired by both brands.

The woman envisioned by The North Face and Cecilie Bahnsen is still adventurous and wears outerwear that adds a layer of protection to the Danish brand’s silhouettes. The most romantic aspect of this partnership, however, lies in the floral motif that defines it. The relationship with nature, in fact, is the component both brands fully share. We see this in design elements like the flowing scalloped edges that evoke lace and the scattered three-dimensional appliquĂ©s that also give the collection a couture aspect.

The collection consists of seven pieces in total: the Mountain Dress, the Short Mountain Jacket, the Mountain Short, the Base Camp Clutch, the Base Camp Duffel (inspired by The North Face’s heritage, like the Glenclyffe Boot and the Mountain Jacket). The capsule collection will be available online, in stores in the spring of 2025 at ceciliebahnsen.com and select The North Face retail locations as well as in other selected stores.
