Restless young people who, through the looks of Celine Homme’s SS22 collection, pay homage to the subcultures born after the Second World War onwards, but definitely entering a new time “through the restless dreams of a cosmic teenager”, this is what Hedi Slimane said in reference to the presentation of the collection.
A real show-experience realized by Slimane through a video, which he directed, styling, casting and set design, to present this SS22.
The whole thing was filmed in the picturesque pine forest of the French island of Grand Gaou in the Embiez archipelago, in June of this year, where in a scenography built ad hoc have performed some FMX riders of the FMX4EVER team with their KTM 250 SX and many other riders.
A story of a mutation that has lasted for years, that of subcultures, which Slimane stages not to define the boundaries but to act as a trait d’union between all those born in the last 60 years.
The soundtrack that accompanies the presentation is signed by Izzi Camina,
and co-produced by Slimane himself, who stated, “this composition of mine captures the intricate dance that moves between fear and acceptance, mania and calm,” which is exactly what goes through the hearts and minds of young people, always and forever.
A collection that expresses states of mind through the looks presented, which stop being simple clothes to take on a generational value that is not self-defining, leaving us all the freedom to feel the emotions.
