Less than a month ago, Bob Gore, a chemical engineer, scientist, philanthropist and inventor of the essential GORE-TEX outdoor material, died at the age of 83 in his home in Maryland.

His invention, however, continues to be central in the world of outerwear in fact, GORE-TEX and the brand founded by Massimo Osti and headed by Carlo Rivetti, STONE ISLAND, have created a new iconic item for this Fall/Winter 2020.

The collaboration combines the technology developed by Bob Gore since 1969 and the know-how of one of the most recognized and recognizable brand on the fashion scene.

The result of this joint venture is the new hooded jacket RIPSTOP GORE-TEX PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY DOWN, completely heat-taped and treated with GORE-TEX anti-drip technology with GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ warranty.

The outer fabric of the jacket is two layers and is made of ultra-light 50 micro-denier polyester yarns combined with the thin GORE-TEX membrane to ensure maximum breathability, waterproofness, resistance and protection from the wind.

The new RIPSTOP GORE-TEX PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY DOWN by STONE ISLAND features a hood edged with a removable felt band, raglan sleeves, and a series of pockets – with oblique entrance, standing closable with a waterproof zipper, two hand pockets – with drawstring waist with hidden pull that allows you to customize the fit of the jacket.

The new RIPSTOP GORE-TEX PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY DOWN by STONE ISLAND is available in three different colorways: Pink, Taupe and Black.
