Do you know the famous Ultrafragola mirror by Ettore Sottsass? Ukrainian architect Roman Vlasov, famous for his conceptual projects, took the idea and shapes of this piece of design and adapted them to his latest project: Concept 689.
Concept 689 is not a building, a villa or an apartment, but a public swimming pool. Forget, however, those you are used to, those crowded and not always clean pools that make you no longer want to go there. Vlasov’s project is futuristic and totally innovative.
The entire structure of Concept 689 is developed in reverse, the three levels have been dug into the ground and the irregular and curvilinear shape almost gives the feeling that the pool makes its way into the ground.
The white, the sinuous lines, the minimalism create a strong contrast with nature and the surrounding greenery, but it does not bother us, it is a clean but necessary detachment, as if it were really necessary.
