How many times during vacations or weekends spent with friends have we tried to capture moments with a camera? To stop those moments made of laughter, sharing, alchemy in images to relive the emotions.
This is no different from what David van Dartel does.
Born in 1995, David van Dartel is a photographer from Amsterdam with exceptional talent. In his shots we can find two equally protagonists: on the one hand we have his friends and on the other the beautiful landscapes offered by the Dutch coast and the island of Vlieland.
David’s photographs have a certain melancholy, due to the colors of the landscape, the endless deserted beaches, the dark and rough sea, but the presence of his friends also turns them into a testimony of a deep and sincere bond.
The one made by David van Dartel with his shots is a sort of personal diary, that’s why many of them today are enclosed in the photographic book “This Time Tomorrow”, a representation of friendship and life.
“As long as I can remember, I have visited the little Dutch island of Vlieland. I spent endless summers there with friends. It’s a place where everyone is at ease. We swim, stroll around, and drink—but above all, we reflect on life, and for a little moment, we forget our lives at the other side of the sea. There is no schedule, it’s only us at that moment of time. This time tomorrow, where will we be?”
