The Simpsons is a great source of inspiration for artists, from those who take up the style of the characters to make portraits and caricatures to those who like to realise them with other techniques, in contexts other than those typical of one of the best-loved animated TV series of all time.
The reasons why The Simpsons is such a great source of inspiration are probably not related to the subjects, but rather to the imagery associated with the series as a cultural product that describes well the simple life of many people – especially American citizens.
Many of the reinterpretations of the themes and characters from Matt Groening’s series are now collected in a new book, entitled Evergreen Fantasies and published by the independent British publisher Blue Monday Press.

Evergreen Fantasies is a collection of drawings and artwork developed in a wide variety of media, through which Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, Maggie and all the other quirky inhabitants of Springfield are represented.
The 100-page book features works by over 40 artists from around the world, created through painting, comics, ceramics, 3D design, embroidery, handmade action figures, sculpture, inflatables and more.
