“Fire House”, the house in the heart of the Swedish forest

Architecture firm UMA redesigned and renovated a beautiful outbuilding surrounded by nature and wildlife in the heart of Sweden, and given the end result it could only be called “Fire House”.

Initially, the owners of the small house had commissioned the studio for a normal renovation, an adjustment due to the last accident that had partly made the house uninhabitable. But from the very beginning, UMA proposed a bold renovation that would make the outbuilding a unique place.
While UMA was working on the project, they discovered that the owner had also contacted an electrician to get light for fire prevention.

From that moment on, the architects and electrician worked together to create something that far exceeded their expectations. The architects believed this was their chance to turn a flat, boring design into something more interesting.

So thanks to simple hama beads that are a great medium for a lighting system because they are hollow and change brightness depending on how the sun hits the material they were able to recreate a perfect silhouette of a fire on the outside of the house.

A design that will also keep away and scare away the deer and forest rabbits that used to have a tendency to feast on the homeowner’s crops. The fire from afar is so vivid and garish that neighbors have already called the fire department several times. Here are all the photos of the “Fire House”, UMA studio’s spectacular creation.
