There is no hidden trick, Matt Calderwood‘s sculptures are the result of careful study. For the Found Objects series, the Irish artist has assembled ordinary objects such as ladders, glasses, sports equipment such as basketballs, buckets, creating sculptures that defy gravity. With a game of weights and counterweights, Matt manages to create an unstable balance that is almost absurd.

The aim was to investigate the meaning of dualism, but the artist has managed to demonstrate much more. His works show that even what is not balanced, what is not perfect can be beautiful and become a work of art.
