The Emotional Horizons of Göksu Çiçek at Goz Art Space

There are places that don’t exist on any map, and yet they live within us. Göksu Çiçek, a Turkish artist, paints them. Architectures suspended between dream and memory, sun-drenched terraces, silent pools, arches that vanish into the void: the artist’s Infinite Spaces – which also give the name to the project at Goz Art Space – are nothing more than mental landscapes where reality dissolves to make room for introspection.

With a painting style that blurs the line between the physical and the imagined, Çiçek transforms space into pure emotion. Her works don’t merely depict environments – they imbue them with intimate meaning, offering viewers the chance to explore their own memories. Every color, every line becomes a gateway into a universe where nostalgia and longing coexist.

Light is the silent protagonist of this narrative: it crosses through rooms, reflects off water, carves out voids. Along with delicate colors and subtly altered perspectives, it contributes to the creation of that suspended sense of time that permeates the entire series.

«These paintings are not just visual compositions – says the artist – but a journey through time, an inner exploration and a reflection on the connection between the soul and space». And indeed, what’s most striking is the ability of these places to welcome the viewer, to create space – in the silence of their forms – for personal dreams and memories.

Göksu Çiçek’s Infinite Spaces don’t tell the story of just one world, but as many as there are gazes that pass through them. The project will be on view on April 10th at Via Montebello 14 at Goz Art Space, alongside the objects of Gorgo Iruka and the jewelry of Efek Studio.
