Geoffrey Pascal is a young French designer who, as his degree thesis at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, presented an innovative collection of furniture that made a lot of headlines. Grafeoiphobia: Unexpected Office consists of three pieces that all have the same goal, that of making you leave your desk to start doing your job comfortably lying in bed.

The name of the collection, Grafeoiphobia, means precisely fear of desks, which in many more than fear is a real nuisance. Geoffrey’s idea comes from the discomfort that can be hidden behind a desk and from the fact that, for our health, it is not at all healthy to sit for a long time, dropping all the weight of the body in the lower back.

That’s why the French designer offers three innovative and comfortable alternatives. The first is the Basic Besk, which recreates the position of when we sit in bed, but much more comfortable. It’s perfect for writing on the computer and resting it on your legs. It continues with the Triclinium Gum, which allows a lateral laying, so as to distribute evenly the weight of the body. You end up with The Flying Man, which will allow you to work on your PC while lying on your stomach.

If you are not yet convinced then you should know that all modules of Grafeoiphobia: Unexpected Office have been made with various densities of foam, provided by the mattress company Reticel and that the ergonomics of each piece has been developed starting from a fee established by NASA for its astronauts.
