The GTA-themed supermarket

Grocery shopping can often be boring, it’s that thing we do mechanically without thinking about it. But if, instead of normal and anonymous supermarkets, we had to choose what to buy in the middle of our favorite video game, it would be a different story.

That’s exactly what the creative team at Silpo, a famous Ukrainian supermarket chain, thought. For one of its stores in Lviv, a Ukrainian city about seventy kilometers from the Polish border, the team decided to follow an unusual but captivating theme.

Just a few steps among the shelves are enough to notice references to one of the most famous video game series: GTA, Grand Theft Auto. In particular, the fish and meat counters, as well as the frozen food department, refer to GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City, GTA V.

In addition, to make the experience even more fun, inside the supermarket there are unique decorative elements, reminiscent of California, such as surfboards or guitars hanging from the ceiling.

This is not the first time that the Silpo chain has stood out for its creative choices. Over the years, in fact, in addition to being repeatedly named Europe’s most innovative supermarket chain, Silpo has opened other themed stores, especially in Kiev, where there is a Van Gogh-themed, Mavka-themed – a famous Ukrainian animated film – and cat-themed store.
