Helmut Lang and UNIQLO together after 8 years

Andrea Tuzio

The first time Helmut Lang and UNIQLO decided to join forces and create a collaborative collection was Fall/Winter 2014.
The then creative director of the brand founded in 1986 and acquired by Prada in 2004, Alexandre Plokohov, created with UNIQLO a series of sweatshirts with a minimalist and super comfortable design.

Today the two brands find themselves collaborating again, and this time the focus of the collaboration is a collection that revisited Helmut Lang’s “Classic Cut“.

The inspiration for this collaboration comes directly from the “HELMUT LANG JEANS” label dating back to Spring/Summer 1997, which in turn was inspired by vintage levi’s.

With this collaboration comes what is the philosophy of the two brands, consisting of simplicity, essentiality and comfort. The lines of Helmut Lang x UNIQLO Classic Cut jeans represent a kind of new interpretation of denim, characterized by a completely peculiar timelessness, and a clean yet complex aesthetic.

The stitching, buttons and rivets are tone on tone, the cotton used is organic and recycled, as are the materials used to sew all the elements.

Available in three color options, white, dark gray and dark indigo, the Helmut Lang x UNIQLO Classic Cut jeans will be available for purchase online and in UNIQLO stores starting Sept. 26.
