In recent years, the Marche region has shown growing attention to the world of comics, with major initiatives like the retrospective dedicated to Hugo Pratt in Recanati last year and now, a new permanent installation in Senigallia celebrating his iconic Corto Maltese.

The Molo di Levante becomes an open-air narrative, a long walk through the panels of one of the most iconic characters in graphic literature. Starting yesterday, July 9, one hundred large-format comic strips taken from Pratt’s works will guide visitors on a journey between dream and adventure, poetry and melancholy – by the sea.

This is not just a tribute, but a dialogue between Pratt’s unmistakable linework and the maritime landscape of Senigallia, between the imaginative storytelling of the flagless sailor and the real horizon of the Adriatic. The illustrations, installed along the entire pier, transform a place of passage into an immersive experience, where every step is a new page to turn.

With this initiative, Senigallia not only celebrates one of the most beloved authors of Italian comics, but also reaffirms its cultural vocation, capable of weaving together memory and innovation, tradition and experimentation. Corto Maltese once again sets sail – this time among people – bringing with him that rebellious charm and timeless elegance that made him a legend.
