From July 3 to July 23, 2025, Milan becomes the meeting point of creativity and urban sport thanks to the Hero Battle Cup, an international event bringing together over 400 athletes from 25 countries. Amid tricks, skates, and street culture, IED – Istituto Europeo di Design – hits the streets as the educational partner, transforming Piazza Duca d’Aosta into an open-air workshop.

Not just a village, but a space where ideas and movement blend. The Urban Village of the Hero Battle Cup will host a series of free, immersive workshops designed for students, athletes, and the general public. Activities range from participatory music creation with Play with the playlist, to live screen printing labs on clothing and accessories powered by Uniqlo, and workshops on sticker design and urban micro-publishing such as Scannerzine and My Keychain is better than yours. A hands-on, accessible experience where design becomes action, community, and presence.

On July 4, there will also be space for reflection with a public roundtable on the theme of urban regeneration, bringing together designers, urban planners, and figures from the sports world to collectively reimagine the future of public spaces. Inclusion, sustainability, and creativity are the core values of a project that uses design as a tool for participation and urban transformation.
