The trailer of Il primo re, a film dedicated to the mythological history of the foundation of Rome, has just come out. The protagonists of the story will, therefore, be the Romulus and Remus brothers, fabulously interpreted by Alessandro Borghi (Remus) and Alessio Lapice (Romulus) under the well-established direction of Matteo Rovere. The director, in fact, has made himself known as one of the most appreciated Italian young filmmakers (the Roman director has indeed been in the spotlight thanks to Veloce come il vento a critics and box office success). It was not by chance Il primo re was entrusted to him, an eight million euro budget movie, a massive amount by Italian standards. From the trailer’s first images, it is easy to see we are perhaps facing more Hollywood than Italian style movie, very similar to the nowadays popular small screen Game of Thrones or Vikings historical fantasy. The director’s care, as well as in the most powerful images, are evident from the proto-Latin language choice for this performance.
The release date is scheduled for January 31 and we cannot wait.
