Used less and less frequently, stamps are one of those objects that have told the history of entire countries for years. With their iconic images and special editions, they are perhaps the most collected item ever, and today they also carry a sort of vintage charm. Makers Company, a creative duo based in Cape Town, wanted to pay tribute to stamps and, through them, to some of the most beautiful cities in the world.

This is how the Town Squares project was born, a series of illustrated stamps that make us travel with imagination from Milan to Greenland. Reproducing the classic shape of the stamps, with a wavy border, Maker Company’s illustrations capture the essence of the places depicted in a few sentiments.
