Marcello Crescenzi‘s career begins with the project Rise Above and I’m already in love with him, because it is the name of a song by Black Flag, as he explains:

“Rise Above is the name I gave my drawing project. When I decided to make a site I was embarrassed to take it with my name, it seemed a bit ‘too pompous and chose to buy the domain with that name taken from a song by Black Flag, a group that I love a lot, for the meaning that urged to do better, to overcome but also to overcome difficulties.”

In fact, each of his works is inspired by the passion for music, not surprisingly it was published in magazines like Dazed, Rolling Stone, Vice, and Wired and won the Creative Quarterly prize of excellence for illustration, as well as being selected for annual awards of Communication Arts and Tapirulan. Among the brands he worked for, there are brands such as Carhartt, Edel Records, Enel, Eni, Marshall Amplifiers, Moleskine and Nike.

In his production, we also find posters for cinema, like the one for “Il segno del comando“, even though his favorite film is Live at Pompeii by Pink Floyd because it combines film and music. His style is unmistakable because of the incredible realism in the details and the liveliness of colors.
