Thinking about a greener future in which nature reappropriates urban spaces, even when these are dominated by concrete, this is the goal of Timberland and the projects related to sustainability that it has been carrying out for years involving different artists and creative projects.
To inspire new generations, on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, the brand is planning a project, in collaboration with Stefano Boeri Interiors and positioned in Darsena, in the heart of the Tortona district and the city.
The studio founded by Stefano Boeri and Giorgio Donà conceived of a floating garden that disrupts the urban landscape and grafts a discussion on new forms of responsibility of citizens towards the city context.

The installation is named Floating Forest and in addition to conveying social responsibility, it stands as a meeting place for citizens and tourists. The 30 species included in the installation form an independent ecosystem of 610 trees in tune with the ecosystem of other plants in Milan. The scents and plants offer a 360-degree experience among birches, maples, hydrangeas and other plants divided into four stages related to the five senses.
The experience will continue online, while the Floating Forest plants will be donated to the association Soulfood Forestfarms Hub Italia, which facilitates the ecological transition of territories. The work by Stefano Boeri Interiors and Timberland will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from June 7 to 12.
