Isola Design District opens its doors virtually

Although the pandemic has in fact postponed all events for 2021, Isola Design District together with the Salone del Mobile opens its doors virtually.
The choice stems from the desire not to stop despite the problems, a large container that will allow visitors to live an experience within virtual reality.

Isola Design District has created an important platform that multiplies forms and channels of communication on design, which will give designers and companies the opportunity to present their work in proportion to their possibilities, creating a virtual melting-pot for users.

The Digital District, is a graphic interface, a virtual animation of the Isola district through which you can access different contents: clicking, for example, on the cue will access live streaming, if you select the digital kiosk will appear the press review of media partners, there will be space for sponsors and there will be gaming activities.
Navigation will be free, just like a “physical” exhibition, and selecting an object will open an informative pop-up about it and its designer. The virtual exhibition space is designed to host between 20 and 25 designers.

Superdistrict was also created for the occasion, the first online aperitif designed to bring hundreds of designers together with the creative studios of the moment. An informal and fresh chat to network, get inspiration
and hypothesize new scenarios, reducing the distance between professionals and aspiring designers. Each meeting will be held on Zoom and will be moderated by Hassan Nasser and Maria Francesca Di Alessandro, founder and CEO of District.

The new platform will be online from 12:00 noon (UTC+2) tomorrow on the site and at 1:00 p.m. (UTC+2) will host the first digital event, with Gabriele Cavallaro opening the platform together with Dutch designer Wisse Trooster for the Designers for Lunch.
