Mr. West’s big homecoming

After the album “Jesus Is King”, one of the most discussed works of 2019, Kanye West returns with “Donda”, his tenth studio album widely anticipated as early as 2020 whose release has been repeatedly postponed until now. The fact that the title is the name of his late mother suggests that this is an album that is connected to the Atlanta rapper’s visionary roots, given his recent break-up with Kim Kardashian.

To come back with a bang, Kanye presented the album with a sold-out listening session at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium, which was also broadcast via live global streaming.

Throughout the event, Kanye only walked around the arena and interacted with fans, letting the music speak for itself, while the 71,000-strong crowd remained in religious silence, given the importance of such a live show and the attachment they all have to his music.

Interestingly, there was also a track dedicated to his break-up with Kim Kardashian, which was a touching and intimate moment for those present, thanks also to this window into his private life.

Featuring on the album are (obviously) artists of the calibre of Jay-Z and Travis Scott, two of the most influential names on the international music scene.

What do you think of Mr. West’s new album? Are you satisfied with it or did you expect more given the huge anticipation?
