Ken Price (1935-2012) was an American artist who channeled all his creativity into the expressive medium of sculpture, experimenting with innovative, contemporary forms and materials, capable of surprising his audience.

Ken’s latest series of works include a group of six large-scale abstract sculptures with a core of fired clay and enameled and painted metal finishes. Each form represents objects and materials found in nature, but also erotic symbols, references to the folk world and surf culture. All forms appear sensual and allusive, probably also because of the sinuous and smooth geometries, which express a certain voluptuousness.

This seductive power is very reminiscent of the materiality of Jeff Koons‘ works, colorful, pop, satisfying and captivating. On the artist’s website, which you can find here, you can retrace the stages of his artistic career.
