This year, Hawaii Island was the site of the most destructive natural phenomenon of recent decades, if not centuries. The Kilauea volcano erupted for about one hundred days, from May 3 to the end of July. Andrew Richard Hara‘s video Kilauea Eruption is a collection of the most spectacular images of this period, including photographs, shots from above and timelapse.

Although it was a catastrophic event, causing hundreds of displaced and injured people, the images are breathtaking, showing how something destructive can be at the same time a spectacle of extreme beauty.

Andrew Richard Hara is used to working surrounded by nature, capturing all its aspects and changes if you want to see more of his work go to his website.
