After A Star is Born it is the turn of Vox Lux, another musical, the second feature by the very young Brady Corbet. For those who do not know him, Corbet is a 1988-born director who, after acting in numerous films, puts himself behind the camera, directing The Childhood of a Leader (presented at the Venice festival a few years ago) and a number of episodes of the Olive Kitteridge miniseries (a true gem from a novel by Elizabeth Strout produced by  HBO). Vox Luxis about the life of a singer who, after experiencing a childhood trauma, will use such experience in the art world, by becoming a famous pop star. The story follows the course of the protagonist’s life, starting from the distant 1999 up to the present day. For this film, the director uses an exceptional cast, so much so that the protagonist is played by no less than Natalie Portman and his faithful manager has instead the face of Jude Law.

As if all this was not enough, the musical part will be taken care of by Sia and songwriter Scott Walker. The film, after being presented at the Venice Film and Toronto Film Festivals, will be released in US theaters on December 7th. As for Italy, we still don’t have a date. But there is no doubt that for a production of this caliber it will not be difficult to find distribution in the beautiful country.

Below is the first official trailer of the film.
