Kittykat96, Victoria Vincent‘s new video animation, is inspired by one of the phenomena that in recent years has devoted millions of strangers to glory: vlogging.
Her story, which is designed to bring out the most terrifying side of this matter, stems from the personal experience she had when she came into contact with the countless videos of Trisha Paytas, a famous American youtuber.
What she noticed following her deeds is that in some videos she is nothing more than a character while in others, the most sincere ones, she is a normal person with her doubts, emotions and words.
Kittykat 96 is nothing more than the story of a young girl who is asked to make videos, create content, invent something to make her life really interesting.
The problem arises when the “esc, cancel and ok” keys are no longer enough to delimit the line between her alter ego on the internet and her real life.
Based exclusively on sound and visual effects, it questions our obsession with the Internet and the way we relate to it, creating other versions of ourselves, to be more interesting personalities, which then turn against us.
