In the Vancouver area renamed Little Italy, the design studio Ste. Marie has created La Tana, a magical place with a vintage style that unites two Italian realities, that of the bar and that of the small family-run grocery stores.
The designers of the Ste. Marie have managed to take two typical popular places, combine them and give them a sophisticated and luxurious air. To achieve this, they opted for the unbridled use of marble, which is found in the black and white chequered flooring and the monumental green marble counter that occupies most of the space. In addition, the walls and furniture are decorated in a range of colours, all on a grey and green scale, that create a sumptuous, vintage atmosphere.
An extra touch is given by the exposed foods, such as the classic aluminium jars, the hanging cold cuts, the handmade bread and pasta, which just look at them make your mouth water.
Entering La Tana is like taking a step back in time, it’s like having a coffee in a late afternoon in the early 1900s.
