Students at the École des Nouvelles Images always manage to make animated shorts of up to a minute’s length with fascinating beauty and disarming friendliness. These are the products that only have the fantastic power to make you smile.
The brevity of these little masterpieces does not make you think that they are easy to make, today’s short video, although it is one minute long, took the students four weeks of work. It’s Le Grand Saut, the animation video based on this year’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The protagonist is a ski jumper. Everything is ready, she is in position, mask put on, the light turns green and down the ramp. Now the only concern is the landing, but perhaps this will not be the case, because sometimes to fly you just have to make a big jump.
