Pierre-Emmanuel Vandeputte is the name of design and product design studio that created Legs, a collection of long-legged steel furniture that has been imagined by anthropomorphic forms, like a sort of “creatures invading the house”. The set includes five models consisting of a chair, a table, a stool, a hanger and a ladder and is all made of tubular steel painted black.
Overall, all the pieces in the collection seem to give the impression of being three-dimensional sketches. As the artist states:
“As you approach, you begin to notice that their limbs extend to corners of the room that you left unfurnished and were quick to forget”.
Pieces were presented during this month’s Stockholm Design Week in the context of Belgium is Design, a promotional platform for brands in the Belgian design world.
