Liquida Photofestival Returns for Its Fourth Edition

From May 8 to 11, 2025, the Polo del ‘900 in Turin — within the spaces of Palazzo San Daniele, on Via del Carmine 14 — will host the fourth edition of Liquida Photofestival. This year’s theme, Il giorno in cui ricorderò (in english: The Day I Will Remember), introduces a deep and urgent reflection on the relationship between image and memory, in an era that is increasingly dematerialized and digital.

At Collater.al Magazine, we’ve always had a special focus on photography, and once again this year we’ve chosen to support the Liquida project and help amplify the work of several photographers selected by our Editorial Team, through interviews and dedicated content that will be published on our online magazine and social media channels.

Curated by Laura Tota, this edition moves between the personal and the collective, between what remains and what is lost, posing a question that is as simple as it is complex: how do we remember through photography?

Particular attention is given to vernacular photography — that everyday practice which has told the stories of families, communities, and transitional moments. Those anonymous, imperfect shots, now at risk of being forgotten, become central to a broader conversation about the archive as a space of memory.

The Venue of Liquida Photofestival

The Polo del ‘900, with its archival and historical mission, is the perfect setting for this kind of reflection. Nestled among twentieth-century testimonies and contemporary narratives, Liquida becomes a point of connection between past and future, offering a space to question what it means to remember in today’s world.

In a time when everything flows and dematerializes, The Day I Will Remember is not just the title of a festival, but an invitation: to slow down, to observe, to preserve. Because every photograph, no matter how fragile, can still be an anchor in the sea of memory.
