“See the sounds, listen to the images“, this is the claim of the VII edition of the Live Cinema Festival that will take place in Rome from 9th to 16th October.
For a week, international artists will take over in live performances, national previews, workshops and symposiums focused on one of the most innovative narrative techniques, able to combine sound, images and space in almost improvised performances, namely live cinema.
To frame every single performance there will be the wonderful scenery offered by the historical building of the Acquario Romano, the Casa dell’Architettura, seat of the Order of Architects of Rome. In fact, thanks to the collaboration with SPAM, international festival of Architecture, an event designed specifically for the spaces of the Acquario Romano has been built. Just think that the Sala Ellittica, which will host two live cinema performances every day, has been equipped with a projection system that uses the curved walls of the hall as a screen.
Among the international guests expected are the Dutch visual music artist Tarik Barri, the Latvian artist Lea Fabrikant, the Austrian artist Partik Lechner, the Czech musicians and composers Aid Kid who worked together with the Visual artist Pavel Karafiàt, the German artist Amelie Duchow.
But that’s not all, Parisian artists Dylan Cote & Pierre Lafanechère will present a performance through which they will explore the pocket world of Google Earth, while the Hungarian duo Žagar AV Experience will investigate the link between traditional fine arts and digital imaging.
There will also be Italy, which besides being represented by Marco Monfardini, one of the most important Italian media artists of the last 30 years, will see the participation of several other artists to whom a special section called Live Cinema Made in Italy has been dedicated.
In addition, the program also includes symposiums and workshops of different kinds to which you can participate upon registration and, given the exceptional period, this year there will be the opportunity to follow the events of the Live Cinema Festival also in virtual mode.
