More and more frequently we witness the power and strength of nature. Although humans strive in order to find ways to tame her, in the end she always reminds us that no compromise is possible. It is from this thought that Loreal Prystaj‘s photographic series “Reflecting on Nature” was born, and although it was made 6 years ago now, it continues to be more relevant than ever.
Loreal Prystaj attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, a Master’s at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London and received a BFA in photography. Today she works as a photographer and visual artist, focusing on the relationship between space and time, often using nature as the main element of her work.

“Reflecting on Nature” is the result of a period spent in Hämeenkyrö, Finland, where the photographer was completely fascinated by the landscape. With the help of a tripod, a remote control for the self-timer and a mirror, Loreal Prystaj put herself at the complete disposal of nature.
“Nature is very important to the well-being of every individual, but more than being part of us, we are part of it.”
For once the human figure is not the protagonist of the shots, but in this case it is only at the service of nature, which in addition to being the background of the image is reflected in the mirror, becoming the central element of the composition.
We have selected some shots of “Reflecting on Nature”, but visit Loreal’s website and Instagram profile to discover all her works.
