Matt Henry is a 1978 English-born photographer who takes up the tradition of what has often been called fictional photography, also using the teachings of Jeff Wall. His images play with genre, history and pop culture, to create an overall story of an aesthetic code: that of drive-ins, 60’s fast food restaurants, Yankee counterculture, politics and social change, racism.
Matt realizes set-builds that faithfully reproduce American atmospheres, costumes and imagery (sometimes even English), where each project presents a cast of actors directed by the artist.
