This is the imaginative world of Michaela Stark, who, with her new project in collaboration with the Fondazione Sozzani – “Michaela Stark’s Panty Show” – continues to speak about body positivity by manipulating her own body. Certainly a voice that stands out, given the prevalence of very thin models around Milan during these Fashion Week days. In all of this, there is also the launch of Panty, the lingerie brand signed by Stark in collaboration with her partner, the photographer Raga Muñecas.

Today, February 22nd, Michaela Stark’s performance will take place in a space that is a blend of the ambiance of her room and her atelier in Hackney Wick, London. The inspirations are diverse, starting with the German artist Hans Bellmer, known for his unique dolls in the 1930s. Additionally, model Yasmin El Yassini will be dressed by Stark herself, and simultaneously, photographer Charlotte Rutherford will capture the entire event. According to the New York Times, it is not yet clear whether Michaela Stark’s work is heralding a true movement or if it is merely a secondary spectacle in the complex panorama of the fashion world. Certainly, it brings to the forefront a highly felt theme that seems to have been set aside by the big players in the Italian fashion system.
