From May 19-22, the doors of the Collectible Design Fair in Brussels, an exhibition dedicated to 21st century design, will open. The weekend will be an opportunity for Movimento Club to launch its first physical exhibition, symbolically titled “Origins.” The name of the project is intended as the origin of a program of physical exhibitions and events, but it is also a way of remembering the moment when everything is born, a coordinate both physical and temporal common to every animate and inanimate object, as in the case of design. Whether born from an error or a mathematical calculation, every origin is unique and can come from any corner of the world, which is why Movimento Club will exhibit works from countries as far away as Australia, South Korea, Russia and Mexico, as well as Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.
The goal of Origins is to ask where we come from and where we are going, as individuals and as a collective. This quest ends up becoming a reflection on the role of the global design scene, always looking for ways to connect communities and improve lifestyles in terms of both practical convenience and environmental sustainability.
A number of works will be exhibited at the Vanderborght Building in Brussels that connect the dots of this great dialogue between people and design, below are some of the most representative ones.
