New Balance introduces a new silhouette, the first version of the 57/40.
A reinterpretation of the iconic 574, a true classic for more than 30 years, one of the Boston brand’s signature sneakers.
The New Balance 57/40 has been reinterpreted with an 80’s meets 90’s aesthetic, the classic 574 lines have been modified for a modern silhouette but one that remains true to New Balance’s classic DNA: the traditional N logo is fattened making it akin to that of the brand’s new models, such as the 327; the CR device remains similar but is also reinterpreted with a contemporary and chunky aesthetic, ideal for the color palette used; the sole is composed of two overlapping intesoles, one inspired by the heritage 90’s, thanks to a wider and wavy design, while the other is a traditional 574 intersole; the enlarged off-road sole is instead a reference to the trail heritage of the model from which it is inspired.
The upper is composed of a mix of leather, suede and mesh with rainbow colored details on a neutral background.
The New Balance 57/40 will be released on January 29th at a price of € 140 but other versions with different colors and materials will be released throughout 2021.
