Discover what happened at The Greatest Race presentation, the manga that pays homage to NB Hanzo v2

During Thursday, March 28, at the Milan store Yamato Video, was held the Italian presentation of The Greatest Race, the manga that pays homage to NB Hanzo v2 signed by New Balance. As expected, the sneaker, the result of the collaboration between the athlete Daichi Kamino and the craftsman Hitoshi Mimura, was the undisputed protagonist of the space, set up in an impeccable manner for the event. At the entrance, it was possible to admire up close a pair of NB Hanzo v2 that were made available to the public on a special illuminated pedestal.

The main hall, instead, had the task of catapulting the public into the New Balance dimension: inside, in fact, were placed several stands that offered some copies of the manga and Asian food, all accompanied by a DJ set and a video projection.

If you missed this event, retrieve it by watching our gallery and the video, which you find below:

Afterward, visitors will be invited to sip a Renaissance-inspired alcoholic drink in front of the Mona Lisa, an aperitif that will precede a romantic dinner in front of the Venus of Milo. To conclude the evening, the couple can also enjoy an acoustic concert in the extravagant Napoleon III‘s room.

All that’s left to do is try! To take part in the competition, all you have to do is fill in the registration form at this addressby April 12, answering the following question:

Fuze Them All, the Octopus x MadMan capsule collection celebrating Rainbow Six

Giulia Guido · 10 months ago · Style

It was 2017 when rapper MadMan and Milanese brand Octopus worked together for the first time. Now, two years later, this collaboration is renewed with a project made to celebrate the world of video games. In the Fuze Them All capsule collection, Madman had the opportunity to encapsulate all his passion for the world of video games, and one in particular, Rainbow Six.

The collection, which was created in collaboration with Ubisoft, consists of a sweatshirt and two t-shirts inspired in particular by Madman’s favorite character, Fuze, from which the entire collection takes its name.

The Fuze Them All is a limited edition entirely Made in Italy and only 150 pieces have been made per garment. The entire capsule collection will be available from Friday, April 5 at the Octopus Online Store and at the IUTER Store in Milan.

On the occasion of Esposiziometro, Eppol Milano hosts the works of Federico Ricotti

On the occasion of Esposiziometro, Eppol Milano hosts the works of Federico Ricotti

Giulia Guido · 10 months ago · Art

It’s called Esposiziometro and it’s the latest project by Alessio Pomioli e Collater.al that comes from the desire to give voice and visibility to painters, photographers, poets, sculptors, and street artists and put them in touch with a public aware and proactive. To welcome Esposiziometro and all the artists will be the Eppol Milano that, for three weeks from Sunday, April 14, will host the works of different artists.

To act as a forerunner, just on the day of the inauguration, from 16:30 to 21:30 there will be the works of Federico Ricotti. Born in 1992, Federico studied illustration and is dedicated to the creation of paintings characterized by a colorful and dry style, minimal and direct, which does not allow personal interpretations.

On the occasion of the launch, we had a chat with Federico who told us about his art.

Tell us a bit about yourself, your history, your background and what led you to dedicate yourself to the world of art.

Initially, I attended the art school for graphic design, but in this course, there were scientific subjects for which I was never brought, so I decided to change school to devote myself exclusively to artistic subjects. Afterward, I was an assistant photographer for a long time, but this experience immediately bored me and gave me the impetus to enroll at the IED, where I graduated in Illustration. I don’t think that what I do is exclusively related to what I’ve studied, it’s more a need that manifests itself spontaneously: I don’t use particular techniques, so I may well not have any academic training to do what I do. Through art I express my emotions and outside of what I feel, using a canvas and a brush.

Your works are characterized by bright colors and pop, what lies behind this choice?

I think that colors are often much more important than the drawing itself, in fact, the part that takes me the longest is precisely the choice of the right shade. With this, I don’t want to diminish everything else, but the color of the background is fundamental and I, personally, prefer pink.

In your artworks, there seems to be a naive and childish stylistic research. How did you get to this simplification?

I find it useless to make intricate or hyper-realistic drawings, if you want to convey something or make the viewer feel emotions, you need simplicity. You don’t need a thousand squiggles, but you really don’t need much: in the end, the way I paint reflects the way I see life.

On Sunday 14th April you will be the forerunner of the Esposiziometro, what will the spectators who will pass through Eppol Milano find?

Those who look at my works will find a part of me and of what I have experienced in my life.

It’s here! Watch the official trailer for The Lion King!

It’s here! Watch the official trailer for The Lion King!

Giulia Guido · 10 months ago · Art

You have to take your place in the circle of life.

That of The Lion King is not just a remake, but it is the king of remakes, perhaps, since it was announced the most anticipated and no matter if we know the story better than our pockets, we already know that the film will make us cry as when we first saw the 1994 animated film.

For this reason, for us big fans, the trailer is a small masterpiece. It’s a two-minute video that manages, more than anything else, to make us become children again, to move us and to make us shed more than one tear.

The opening notes of the soundtrack are enough to make us goosebumps, not to mention when we see the little Simba and Nala, the perfidious Scar and hyenas and then the two of them, yes, Timon and Pumba. They’re all there!

The release in theaters is scheduled for July 19 meanwhile look at and watch the official trailer!
