Jordan Brand is getting ready to launch the latest Air Jordan 1 Low OG in one of the most iconic colorways, the “Shattered Backboard”. This colorway is named after a peculiar event in Michael Jordan’s history and strongly linked to Italy.

In the summer of 1985, Nike organized a promotional tour for Jordan in Europe, including Italy.
On August 25th of that year was organized a friendly match at Palasport in Trieste between Stefanel and Juvecaserta, both sponsored by the Swoosh.
Micheal, after his first year as a rookie in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls, was invited to play that game with the Stefanel jersey.
He was supposed to play the first half with the team then coached by Santi Puglisi, while the second half with Boscia Tanjevic’s men.

In the end Jordan did not change jersey, he played the whole game with Stefanel Trieste and scored 30 points and a shattered scoreboard after a spectacular dunk.

Jordan Brand has recently released official images of the new Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Shattered Backboard”, following leaks from a couple of weeks ago.
The characteristic two-tone upper, white and orange, is complemented by the laces and side Swoosh in black.

The release date for the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Shattered Backboard” is scheduled for August 26, so don’t be caught unprepared.
